Announcement from the Chancellor

Chancellor Steel stands before the gigantic crowd at Sky point. The banners of VnV fly high as the masses cheers him on. Holding up his hands, he asks for the crowd to settle down.

“My fellow VnV members,

Today I’m tasked to bring you a matter of the utmost importance.
Several days ago an assassination attempt was undertaken against our beloved leader, the Arch Chancellor. Though this has been foiled by our security forces, the Arch Chancellor was gravely wounded. Only recently has he been stabilized in our medical regeneration facilities at Sky Point. Thus far we have little information as to the identity of the assassin nor the faction he or she works for.
With the incapacitation of our leader, I Chancellor Steel have taken up the mantle of acting Arch Chancellor until our lord feels fit to rule once more.

As my first act as acting Arch chancellor, I have ordered a full scale investigation into this grievous crime. Anyone and anything shall be held in suspicion until we can find who is behind this attempt.
Rest assured, my beloved people, this sneak attack shall not go unpunished!

But for now, we must remain calm. And as such my fellow VnV members, I ask you to stand tall. To stand proud and to prepare for war. For soon we shall have our revenge. We as a people shall rise from the ashes and strike back at those who wish to harm us. We shall put their skies on fire and grind their bones into the dust as is our way!”

With this the crowd soars to life. In unison they shout the name of VnV to the skies as acting Arch Chancellor Steel walks off the stage with a smile on his face. War it shall be, he thinks to himself…

The Imperial City Thera, from the sky a mass of ten-of-thousands can be seen. All gathered on the imperial promenade. Two rows of great statues, arch chancellors of old seem surrounded by millions of ants. They lead up the gargantuan Imperial Palace. Most of the people carry electrobinoculars as the Arch Chancellor's balcony is for most but a tiny spec in the distance. People are moving about nervously: the Arch Chancellor would appear in public today, with a great announcement. In the sky overhead, row upon row of artemis and apollo fighters fly by with mathematical precision.

Near the palace, several detachments of heavily armoured wolf-soldiers stand guard. They seem as static and as ominous as the giant statues surrounding the square, and the people of Thera trust & fear them. The Arch Chancellors personal Guard. Bred and trained personally the Arch Chancellors right hand. The infamous Wolf-Lord Steele... Because of him he crowd was now silent and listening in awe. He had been adressing the people from the balcony, his voice heavy and metalized as it boomed over the great square.

"...and thus we have apprehended he who would see your beloved Arch Chancellor dead. Before his miserable worthless life ended he confessed that he was sent by The United federation of Planets!"

At this point the massive crowd starts shouting booo's and numerous curses, Chancellor Steele stays silent for a moment, and then lifts somthing from a pedetal next to him. It is the severed head of the would-be assassin. Holding it out towards the crowd by it's hair he continues:

"Now you see again what will happen to those who challenge our great nation!"

With his unnatural strength he throws the head from the bacony towards the crowd. Flying several hundred feet before dissapearing into the masses.

"And now, I'd like to present you all: our nations great leader the Arch Chancellor Vehemence!"

The Wolf Lord steps aside and gives a small but respectful bow, from behind him the arch chancellor approaches the balcony. The crowd starts cheering but falls silent as the Arch Chancellor lifts his arms wide. Mouths fall open in surprise as the old Arch Chancellor stands erect, his pure white hair waving in the wind. His face seems... younger somehow. His skin no longer that of a withered old man. His voice however remains unchanged, heavy and craqling with age.

"People of Thera, subjects of VnV Nation. I am proud to see you all here today. And I know all is well. Yes the rumours are true, an attempt at my life has been made. But I live, standing here before you renewed in not only body but also in my resolve."

His voice grows steadily louder as he speaks;

"To lead this Nation to Galactic greatness! To subject those who are lesser than us and aid those who are worthy. And to destroy those who oppose us! The United federation of planets dares to challenge us? I say hunt them down! Do not stop until they are found. You do not know pain, you do not know fear! A new power is rising. Its victory is at hand! Tomorrow the galaxy will be stained with Federation blood! Fly to UFP space!...... Leave none alive....... To war!"

The crowd goes completely wild, shouting and cheering. From behind the palace, twenty athena's lift into orbit followed by an equal number of poseidons. On diffrent locations around the planet missile silo's open their doors...
